TASHI MANNOX was born in England in 1962. He has studied an eclectic range of artistic disciplines within both the Eastern and Western traditions, in his Journey as a painter and calligrapher.   Traveling to India, he was privileged to study under a master of ancient Sanskrit - an artistic form preserved by only a handful of practitioners in the world today.

After gaining a BA[Hons] degree in Fine Art, TASHI became a Buddhist monk of the Tibetan order, at the age of 22.

For seventeen-years he apprenticed under the direction of a master of Tibetan art, studying temple decoration and the sacred art of Thanka painting and directing his own artistic projects

TASHI MANNOX entered a Buddhist retreat, where he stayed for four years, working on ancient Tibetan texts and training as a scribe in the highly-disciplined, multiple forms of Tibetan calligraphy.

Since laying down his monastic robes in 2000, Tashi has built on his disciplined training - and a highly-developed, spiritual awareness, formed through years of practicing meditation and Buddhist philosophy.

The result of this commitment is a collection of iconographic masterpieces that reveal powerful, spiritual themes through the majestic images of Tibetan Buddhist calligraphy.
